Fly control in the stable and in agriculture - effective defense against stable flies

In agriculture, stable flies not only transmit diseases, they can contaminate the feed and lead to reduced performance and unrest. In the barn, the 3-step plan below, consisting of larvicides, fly bait and fly concentrate protects people and animals from an annoying fly plague. Special stable fly catchers are also an effective fly control in the stable.

The stall is finally fly-free in 3 steps!

Did you know that only 20% of the flies are visible? The other 80% are preferably in the manure as eggs and larvae! A fly is sexually mature after a few days and will lay about 900 eggs within the next few days. 90% of the approx. 900 eggs develop further, so that 800 flies will lay further eggs in the next few weeks! To counteract this process effectively and effectively, you should use our 3-step plan.

3-step plan:

1st step: larval control
Step 2: Fly bait against sexually mature adult flies
3rd step: fly concentrate for sexually mature adult flies

1st step: larval control - control of pest larvae

So that the flies do not multiply rapidly, it is important to combat the fly problem at the root and to first remove the fly larvae. To combat the maggot there are special products that inhibit the growth of the fly larvae by influencing the molting of the larvae. The fly's development cycle is interrupted because larvicides prevent pupation and the fly larvae die. The earlier a larvicidal product is used in the case of increasing fly infestation, the lower the fly population will increase. Regular application and thorough distribution on the manure surface are important for successful implementation. Important to know: 1 kg of manure or residual feed is sufficient for the development of up to 10,000 maggots!

First treatment: approx. 4-5 days after manure removal or storage
Second treatment: after about 2 weeks
Regularly: every 4-6 weeks

Step 2: Fly bait against adult flies - Direct pest control

Fly baits consist of an attractant and a gastric poison for sexually mature adult flies. The bait is filled flat into small plastic trays or cardboard boxes and placed in places that prefer flies, e.g. next to waste points. Our tip: Mix the fly bait with warm water until the granules have dissolved. So the mass can also be used as a spreading agent. Now spread the agent on all surfaces that prefer flies, like windows, light sources, doors, columns and top walls.

3rd step: fly concentrate for sexually mature adult flies

Fly concentrate and fly spray agents act as contact or feeding poison. The concentrate is applied with a white syringe at low pressure to the ceiling area and on the walls in the animal stable. The flies absorb the active ingredient through their balls of their feet or through soft parts in the shell and are destroyed in a short time. Our tip: Dirty and dusty surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly before use, as dirt significantly affects success.

Nasty Fly Plague - Most common signs of a fly problem

Feces: The small black accumulations of spots can indicate a plague of flies. The fly droppings are often hidden on the upper areas of the walls, floor tiles or in lamps. Also in areas that are more difficult to clean, like drainage, drainage channels and around the sink are often the small dark spots. In the barn you will find the breeding areas in calf boxes, corners and cavities with manure and feed residues, deep litter and floating layers in manure pits.

Numerous flies: If there is a large number of flies on the ground around rubbish bins or in compost and waste areas, this can indicate a plague of flies. Flies also feel comfortable with water accumulations such as rain barrels, watered potted plants, gutters and wet tires.

Fly maggots: Fly maggots are flies in the larval stage. The small, approximately 13 mm large larvae are often found in decomposed food and waste areas such as compost, manure or garbage and can indicate an impending fly problem. Larvicides effectively prevent fly maggots so that they cannot develop into flies at all.
